Scheduling tracked report not working

This seems to be a flaw in web intelligence or I have an incorrect setting, can anyone help?

I wish to schedule a report that shows the weekly changes made to records so external systems can be updated. The report is set to current filters and to compare with last refresh. It works perfectly if run manually.

When scheduled it only shows changes compared to the initial instance of the report, when it needs to compare with the last scheduled output, otherwise the information is useless.

I figure there must be a fix for this that I can't see as it doesn't make sense to schedule a tracked report that never changes it's base lookup, you gain nothing over running it manually.

I can see this has been an issue for a very long time - does anyone know how it has been addressed?

To add to Lena's points: It's not exactly an auto thing. I read new questions when they come into the community (as do other moderators), and I offer some tips/resources that I think can help the person asking the question. Some of the advice is the same (because I always try to include general guidance about Q&A/community best practices), but I also try to personalize a little. (For example, I might recommend that a member also search for existing answers, but I can see that you already did that...so there's no point offering you that tip.)

Beyond that, if you find that your question isn't getting answers, those resources might help you make some decisions about how to revise your question to draw member attention.
