SAPUI5 Visual Editor - How to add a new column in Table (Manage Sales Order)

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement in which we need to add a new column in the table inside Manage Sales Order application. The new column should have a button in the items aggregation and on press of that button it should open a dialog.

I have tried to create a adaptation project on SAP BAS. I was unable to add a new column using the SAPUI5 visual editor.

Hi Hari,

No I did not find any solution for this. I also raise a ticket with SAP and they said it is not possible to extend Manage sales order application. Please find below reply from SAP:

Dear customer,

unfortunately SAP standard apps are not supported as the originial app for an extension project in S/4HANA, only custom apps (e.g deployed from Web IDE or generated apps for Custom Business Objects) can be selected.
To adapt S/4HANA standard apps, you are restricted to the in-app extensibility that I mentioned in my last reply.

Our mission in development support is to help you, our customers, with any error and/or bug of standard delivered software licensed from SAP. Our tasks do not include providing suggestions about system operation, configuration, how-to request, etc and in particular our tasks do not include providing suggestions for customer owned implementations of customer specific business requirements, as this is clearly a consulting task.

If, however, you still need further help implementing your customer own logic in the intended way, please get in contact with your local SAP consultant.
