Hello everyone,

I have encountered a problem. When I install SAP 8.00 32bit on Windows 10, the installation completes successfully and everything works fine. The log files do not show any error codes.

However, the issue is that I cannot find SAP Logon when searching in the Start menu of Windows.

Instead, I have to navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui and manually start saplgpad.exe to work.

After some research, I found that SAPLogon.exe and saplgpad.exe essentially serve the same purpose to launch the logon, but saplgpad.exe does not offer the option for variable logins.

For the rollout of the new SAP GUI 8 in our company, we need to have the SAP Logon both as a desktop shortcut and available in the Windows search bar.

I have already created a shortcut to saplgpad.exe for myself, but this is not a viable solution for the rollout, as every user would need to do the same.

We are talking about more than 400 users.

I appreciate any support or suggestions for a solution.

Best regards,

Hello,

you should check how you called the installation or defined your installation package.
The SAP GUI installation tree contains these components (among others):
- SAP GUI for Windows 8.10
-- SAP GUI Suite
--- SAP GUI
--- SAP Logon Pad
--- SAP Logon
...

If you only select the component SAP Logon Pad in this case, you will only get the SAP Logon Pad and nothing else.

Best regards,
Frank
