Hello,
I have SAP Solution Manager 7.2 system ( separate ABAP & Java stack) with MCOD scenario (java and abap schemas in same DB SID) running on HANA.
As part of cloud migration activity , I need to plan system copy/migration and little confused with backup/restore scenario I am planning to use.
As per many SAP articles and SAP notes, all Java stack data are now stored at database level and with that logic backup/restore method should work in a similar way as traditional abap stack systems. If I go with this logic then with th backup/restore copy method I can have solman (abap & java ) data in sync and can avoid additional efforts of separate export/import for Java stack. Not sure if any impact on existing charm, TechMon, ITSM, BPMon functionalities post migration ?
Looking for expert's opinion on this backup/restore method for SolMan 7.2 ABAP & JAVA Stack systems.
Thanks,

Hi Rakesh,
This is quiet interesting , I am facing the challange you were saying , the need to refresh solman dev with prod.
Can you please elaborate on the steps you have performed. Would be a good learn.

I have several times tested the BI-JAVA Systemcopy even at customer side, and he was not believing it. however it worked and you cannot harm your system anyway.

Hello
copy/restore a SAP JAVA System like BI-JAVA 7.50 or SolMan JAVA 7.20 Instance is a bit more tricky as to copy the ABAP system along. Both Stack are based on SAP JAVA 7.50 anyway.
Despite that, you will find some guidance in the Document - SAP First Guidance – BW-PCA and Housekeeping Task Lists as the proposed SAP Solution for SAP JAVA was never finished properly.
However, you can copy a SolMan JAVA stack independent what the official SAP Documentation or SAP KBA Notes will tell you ...
