SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics Cloud: Grouping DATE values by MONTH from linked dimensions in charts

Hello SAP community,

I have a question about the capabilities of SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics Cloud to group DATE values from two linked data sources (linked dimensions) by MONTH (while also showing unbooked values) in a chart.

So for example, let's say I have the creation dates and EUR values of sales quotations (AG) and a sales orders (TA) in two separate Custom Analytical Queries. 

(I know you can usually get this data from a single CDS view, but for the sake of example, let's say you have two data sources).

This would be my sample input data:

And this is the kind of chart that I want to create in with SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics Cloud:

This is what I am currently able to create. It is close, but it still lacks the grouping by month:

The creation date dimensions are linked for sales quotation and sales order, and unbooked data is displayed:

Unfortunately, when I try to group dates by month/year, I get the error "Failed to fetch data".

I guess the grouping can usually be done by changing the hierarchy from "flat presentation" to "year-month-day" and then setting the level to month. 

But something about having linked date dimensions seems to interfere.

Is there a way to make this work?
