SAP S/4 HANA 1610 SMART_BUSINESS_RUNTIME_SRV OData for Analytical Fiori App

Hi All,

We are trying to implement Sales order Fulfilment issues Analytical Fiori app on SAP S/4 HANA 1610 Box.

App reference: Sales order fulfilment Issue Fiori app

During our implementation we found SMART_BUSINESS_RUNTIME_SRV OData service as a prerequisite. Unfortunately we are not able to find or register the same in maint_service.

After exploring couple of blogs we found a SAP note on S/4 HANA Embedded Analytics as given below

Kindly solve my below queries.

1) Do we need any extra component to be installed on S/4 1610 Box to implement the Smart Business Service

2) What all tasks needs to be done in-order to enable SMART BUSINESS Odata services on S/4 HANA 1610.

Any experts can help me out in solving my queries

Hi Phani

That service is in namespace SSB

So you need to register the service /SSB/SMART_BUSINESS_RUNTIME_SRV

and also /SSB/SMART_BUSINESS_DESIGNTIME_SRV

You can do that in transaction STC01 Task List Configuration using task list SAP_GATEWAY_ACTIVATE_ODATA_SRV

I am also facing the same issue with Sales order fulfillment issues App.

i tried with the above mentioned way... using STC01 TCODE...

But when i click on Execute button it says :

Task list SAP_GATEWAY_ACTIVATE_ODATA_SRV does not exist.

What should i do now...please give me the solution

Hi Vamsi,

Are you sure you are in the Fiori Frontend Server? OData Services are activated in the Fiori Frontend Server of your S/4HANA system. Or just search for a task lists with *ODATA* and you should find it.

Hi Jocelyn,

My SMART_BUSINESS_RUNTIME_SRV service is now activated, so that my app is working fine now.

Previously what mistake i have done is...as follows

i searched this above service in Technical Service Name that's y it throw error message the service is not available in back end system.

Actually for configuring OData services for all my other fiori apps i did in the same way and those apps are working fine but only this app is throwing this kind of error.

One of my colleague asked me to change that input position to External Service Name and do the configuration like that...

I tried that one now it didn't throw any Error message and OData is configured successfully...Now APP is also working fine...

My Doubt is how do we know which field is suitable for which OData Service to configure in the(TCODE: /IWFND/MAINT_SERVICE)... above mentioned screen shot( Either Technical Service Name / External Service Name ).

Hi Phani,

SMART_BUSINESS_RUNTIME_SRV OData service is part of S4CORE software component, so this should be part of your S4 HANA system. Please try to register the service using /iwfnd/maint_service and use the system alias pointing to your backend S4 system.

Hi Binson, FYI Yes it's correct that using /IWFND/MAINT_SERVICE is an option. However the recommendation is to use the STC01 Task List Configuration transaction as per the Best Practice guide for S/4HANA Fiori Apps Deployment. This is a simpler process - although the end result is much the same.

Hello Phani,

Did you resolve the issue. I am also facing similar issue. I can see the SMART_BUSINESS_RUNTIME_SRV OData service in Backend server but unable to add it in Frontend server. I cannot add it using /iwfnd/maint_service because i cannot see it there.

Please can you guide me.
