Hi Gurus,
I am wondering is this must be posted in a BASIS forum but I'll try here anyway.
We were proposed to use SAP PI 7.31 single stack version as ESB in our company for non SAP critical aplications (mostlike Web Services) for 200 new interfaces.
The team that is asking is also figuring out some features and they found that it is possible to have redundance at a hardware level but not at a software level for PI.
What we are wondering is if it exists at a software level redundance so the aplication logic can continue working. They need it to be tolerant to failures so at a software level the issue can be isolate and PI can still work at an aplication level.
Is this possible? Can PI be working and online 100% avoiding any kind of issue or if the central instance turns down we are not able to continue working?
Thanks!
PI is a very mature and robust product.
If you have installed it and maintain in correctly there is no reason why it should crash on you.
If you need near-0 downtime you can consider the High availability solution as mentioned in MAte's reply.
Also, at the design level Asynchronous messaging should be considered to provide a better and stable solution.
