SAP Intelligent Supply Chain Management (2310): SAP Basis Setup & Configuration

Introduction:

Intelligent Clinical Supply Management (ICSM) refers to the application of advanced technologies and data analytics to optimize the supply chain processes involved in clinical trials. This approach aims to ensure that the right clinical supplies are available at the right time and place, minimizing waste, reducing costs, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical trials.

 

Prerequisites:

  1. You have set up your BTP global account and subaccount.
  2. You are assigned the administrator role for the global account.
  3. SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Chain Management is properly entitled to your subaccount.
  4. Subscribe your sub account to the service SAP Intelligent Supply Chain Management by selecting the appropriate plan i.e., standard, pre prod, demo etc.

  1. SAP S/4 HANA 2022 (Software component S4CORE FPS02) must be installed. You need to install an SAP Fiori front end server 2022 for SAP S/4 HANA. Install the server on the same system is you choose the gateway central hub deployment.

 

Overall Installation Sequence:

Install the back-end components with SAP Solution Manager’s cloud-based Maintenance Planner. If there are any issue with Maintenance Planner, you can download the software components manually from the SAP Software Download Center.

  1. To download manually from SAP Software Download center, go to:

  1. Under Installations and Upgrades, enter the technical component name in the search field Search in Software Downloads: For UI component, search ISLSUI.
  2. In the category Installation Software Component, select ISLSUI 200.
  3.  Go to installation and download and install Zip file.

Post Installation:

Activate the application specific OData services:  Tcode - Activate and maintain services (/n/iwfnd/maint_Services) -> Add service -> enter system alias -> Get services (or Press ENTER). User below table for reference and select the services.

You also need to activate the ODATA v4 services, tcode /n/iwfnd/v4_admin -> publish groups -> select the system alias -> publish groups.

Requirements:

  1. To connect your application to on-premises system, you need to have installed and configured cloud connector.

  1. Configure Destinations in BTP cockpit, they enable the connection to all the SAP S/4 HANA services accessed by the end users and by technical users.

  1.  Configure Principal Propagation: The cloud connector supports principal propagation (also known as user propagation) to authenticate users towards internal systems.

  1. Create an RFC destination: to connect your system to the OData services used to get study data from SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply management for planning, you must create an RFC destination of type G (HTTP connection to external server) that points towards this OData service.

Logon & Security: SSL -> Active, SSL Certificates -> DEFAULT SSL Client (Standard)

Special options: HTTP Version -> HTTP 1.1, Compression -> Inactive

  1. Creation of OAuth 2.0 Client

The OAuth 2.0 client is used in combination with the configure profile /CTCO/OAUTH_CLIENT_PROFILE and an RFC destination to allow to SAP Intelligent Supply Chain Management for planning.

  1. Configure Connection Parameters:
    1. In Customizing for SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Management -> interfaces -> Cloud -> Configure Connection Parameters for synchronizing Study master Data
    2. Enter the RFC destination name and OAuth 2.0 configuration name.

  1. Enable the consumption of SAP event mesh for data synchronization.
    1. Go to tcode – SICF
    2. Find and activate service -> default_host->sap->bc->rest->ICSM->icsm_event_wb

  1. Switch BC sets: Switch BC sets are data containers in which table entries for industry solutions are delivered by SAP to customers. They are part of the Switch Framework. Switch BC sets are activated automatically as soon as you activate the business function /CTCO/BF_ICSMSwitch BC Sets | SAP Help Portal.
