I am a warehouse worker but my hobby is programming. The office of this warehouse uses SAP and the workers uses scanners and some of them a SAP client on personal computers. I am going to learn SAP, go to the office and tell them that I know it.
So I want to create SAP system in ma house for the education purposes and train. I think it should be something like a server and the client. I was reading that the server should be built on SUSE linux. So I can use my old computer and install SUSE and SAP server.
I think the above describes a level of my knowledge and my targets. Can you give me any advices? Another thing I think of is that maybe it is a public SAP server anywere that is open for everybody and anybody can use it for learning?
Thank you
Hi Adam
An SAP Netweaver/ERP system is a combination of SAP Application server, DB server and end user client end GUI software. You can start installing SAP application server/DB server by SWPM tool to your own computer server/ VM where supported OS is well prepared. Namely for Linux, SLES for SAP, RHEL for SAP or Oracle Linux. Windows Server is another choice for SAP DB/APP servers too but not Win10/Win11 versions. Challenge may come from how you can find the media if you are not with an SAP portal S-user, contract based.

You can install openSUSE Leap 15.3 and on top of it install a developer license of SAP Netweaver.
But in order to install the software, the machine will need to have a lot of RAM, a dedicated 16B at least.
