SAP HANA On-Premise Implementation Hardware Selection

Hello Experts

As part of the SAP HANA On-premise implementation, we are in the process of Hardware selection. From all the documents I could understand that Intel was part of SAP HANA from the beginning.  IBM power came into picture from last 1 year only. Our current SAP systems are running on IBM power with AIX and DB2. Looking for an expert opinion which hardware we should be opting while moving to HANA. Is there any document where it states the PROS and CONS of Intel and IBM power hardware.

Thank you very much in advance

Regards

Harish

Hi Harish,

SAP, in my experience, is not going to specify that one or other technology is better.  However, for an on-premise, non-appliance implementation "TDI" there is a standard set of tests that need to be run and passed in order for the installation to be approved.

See the above note and it's associated PDF.

Hello Harish,

As you may already know there is Certified SAP HANA Hardware Directory page.

You can also mail to HWC@sap.com for your questions.

I haven't seen a document comparing HWs yet.
