Hi everyone,
I have a HANA database (log mode: normal) that is being backed up via NetBackup — both full data backups and log backups.
Now I’m restoring the backups to a different HANA system.
Here are my two scenarios:
Scenario 1 – Restore Only Logs After Full Backup Already Restored:
I have already restored the full backup from 9 PM.
Now I want to restore only the log backups, on top of that, without re-restoring the full backup.
But when I try to do that, it starts restoring the full backup again.
→ How can I restore only the logs after full backup is already restored?
Scenario 2 – Restore Logs Up to a Specific Time:
I want to restore logs only up to two hours after the full backup (i.e., until 11 PM).
How can I control the log restore process to stop at a specific point in time?
Any help or step-by-step guidance (using HANA Studio, or Backint) would be really appreciated.
Thanks a lot!
Request clarification before answering.
For Scenario 1, use recover data until log in HANA Studio and uncheck the "initialize" option, this avoids full restore again.
For Scenario 2, use point-in-time recovery and set the desired time (e.g. 11 PM) during the log recovery step.
