SAP Hana engine license backup

Hello,

We have been working on SAP B1 since 2019 now and lately I had a discussion with someone who told me that each HANA Engine license comes with a backup license. This Backup license can be used incase of server down and can be implemented in a different server to decrease down time.

Is there actually a backup Hana engine license?

I have been searching for an answer on this community and over google but I didn't have any answer

I checked with my friend again and he confirmed that YES SAP HANA engine license comes with a backup license that can be used incase of system crash, hacked, or any other emergency that causes the system to be down.

Hi Sarah,

I've never heard of a "backup" HANA license before, nor do I find any reference after investigating internally. What HANA uses are 'permanent' and 'temporary' license keys, (The temporary license being valid for 90 days, after that a permanent license needs to be installed)
