i have a couple of questions in reference to the environment we have configure to my understanding is not in complete full operation. Or I could be wrong,,,,,,

1. The environment: hana2sp05 in a Linux platform.

2. Access to a HANA Database

Use Case: Migrate Oracles Objects (Procedures/Functions/Tables/View) which generate reports of historical and transaction data.

Process: Oracle on Premise -----> Migrate ----->SAP HANA Cloud.

Data Content : Sources : different format (Flat file/SQL Server/stream/------> compiles the Legacy Oracle Database

Questions:

The migration process we are performing is rudimentary manual base on either batch scripts or simple script to convert either the tables/view/functions/Procedures.

A. Is there a SAP component which will allow Integration , ETL and Reporting based on a DW?

a. SDI versus BODS versus SLT

1. The challenges we are facing using current MODE of operation , is the verification of Cleansing , transformation to validate the data. This is done by manual query data and isolating the records in questions and later conclude the course of action to either revise the table structure or clean the data or mitigate to accept the Data type field such for an example change VARCHAR to NVARCHAR to include Unicode values.

B. The concept of DATA Service is used to access the legacy Oracle data and use insert statements to SAP HANA.

The present configuration does not allow for integration to replicate data from External sources. This need to change most of the clients are external to ur environment. (Office/Region/City, etc)

1, SDi will be a prefer candidate to provide aa permanent connection to these external source and replicate through delta change to SAP HANA.

C. AI component

Probably the availability of pattern design will help to create task adapt to problems encounter as the data changes from sources for cleansing, validation, etc.

Any thoughts or suggestions.....
