Dear SAP Tech users,
For the past few weeks, our SAP HANA DB Server's HDB service has been stopping unexpectedly every other day. To resolve this, I manually log in and run the following command:
/usr/sap/NDB/HDB00/exe/sapcontrol -nr 00 -function RestartSystem HDB
Has anyone else encountered this issue? What could be causing the HDB service to stop, and are there any permanent solutions to prevent this from happening?
Request clarification before answering.
Hi PARAGMewada
Detail investigation will be needed, please create a support ticket using component :SBO-BC-DB-HANA
please provide a Full System Dump of your system and attach same to incident:
To execute a Full System Dump execute the follow steps:
1. Log in to the Linux server where SAP HANA is running;
2. Log in as the ndbadm user. Command: "# su - ndbadm";
3. As soon as you log on as the ndbadm user, the login will take you to the HANA installed instance directory. For example /usr/sap/NDB/HDB00;
4. Now browse to a folder called “exe”. Command: "# cd exe";
5. Now browse to a folder called “python_support”. Command "# cd python_support";
6. Now under this path you will find various python scripts. We need to execute a python script called “fullSystemInfoDump.py”;
7. For doing this you need run the command “# python fullSystemInfoDump.py”;
8. Once this is done, the system will take some time to collect the files. Once completed, it will display “full system dump done”;
9. It also provides the path of a zip file, which is created to store the full dump.
After collect the Full System Dump, please attach same to incident which you will create.
Kind Regards
Nidhi
