SAP Data services 4.3 upgrade- RFC failure

We upgraded SAP data services from 4.2 to 4.3. We received the below RFC error, for the existing SAP connections

An error occurred while connecting to the server. :No RFC authorization for function module RFC_METADATA_GET.

We reached out SAP and understood that this is a known issue in 4.3 version and SAP recommended to implement the note # 3472602.  This is resulting in change of security authorizations in all the connected SAP systems.

Despite this RFC error, we are successfully able to Read data from RFC direct read and via ABAP dataflow and all the expected functionalities are working fine. How is it working despite RFC connection is at error ?. i get a feeling that we don't need to establish SAP connection in Management console at all. Please provide your thoughts.

Please check KBA https://me.sap.com/notes/3557057. Check your datastore type is SAP Applicaiton or BW source/target. If your job is not usingt BW source/target datastore type, then it doesn't use DS RFC Server at all. Job can be successful even when DS RFC Server is down.

Thank you, @April_Miao, for the answer. Could you please clarify if setting up the "RFC Server Interface" in the Data Management Console is necessary for connecting to SAP applications (ECC, S/4 HANA, MDG) other than BW? I also saw that KBA 3557057 was released today (January 6, 2025), or if this has been a known issue for some time.
