SAP Cloud Transport Management System for On-Premise ABAP and JAVA instances

Dear experts,

I'm starting to embark with Cloud ALM and by extension, looking sideways at cTMS and how would it fit with on-premise SAP Systems, mainly ABAP and JAVA instances.

After intensive readings on these topics since last week, it looks like I'm going backwards instead of getting a clearer picture.

I can see that the cTMS roadmap is progressing fast and every quarter brings additional features and allow more environments and content, however, it seems to me that nowadays still cannot be considered a unique solution and has to coexist with additional solutions.

I'll be more specific and imagining a landscape mainly composed by on-premise ABAP and JAVA instances. Let's say a typical 3-tier S/4HANA backend, a 3-tier ECC and a 2 tier PI. would it be possible to centrally manage the changes on those instances from cTMS / Cloud ALM in a similar manner than it would be done using ChaRM/CTS+?

Thanks in advance,

Dear Xavier,

SAP Cloud Transport Management service is intended to cover transports of SAP cloud content and development (for which you should see corresponding progress in the road map of the service, such as by recently adding the option to handle the transport of changes from SAP BTP, ABAP environment) - there are no plans today to also transport content from on-premise or private cloud with it.

SAP Cloud ALM can integrate today with both SAP Cloud Transport Management service (for cloud changes) and with CTS/CTS+ (for on-premise/private cloud changes).

So, in your example landscape above, you would use CTS/CTS+ and connect it to SAP Cloud ALM. In hybrid scenarios, both SAP Cloud Transport Management service and CTS/CTS+ would get orchestrated by SAP Cloud ALM, as depicted here:

I hope this helps to clarify things and the positioning.

Best regards,
Boris

is it possible two handle toc's between 3 clients in a two system landscape? f.e. DEV 100 as a dev system / DEV 900 as a Test system / PRD 100 as a Productivsystem?
