SAP Cloud ALM and Tricentis TTA - SAP Standard Test scenario's for SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud

Hi,

Are there built-in Test-scenario's within Tricentis testing tool (for SAP Cloud ALM), so automated testing and reporting can be setup really easily? This is available for SAP S/4Public cloud, what are the options in SAP S/4HANA Private cloud? 

If yes, in which tool of Tricentis, and how does it looks like? I'm working right now with Tricentis TTA (via SAP Cloud ALM). Let me know thanks in advance.

The SAP Cloud ALM Integrating Test Automation Providers documentation states that SAP Cloud ALM currently supports integration with 2 Test Automation Providers. They are: 

1. Test automation tool for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
2. Tricentis Test Automation for SAP integrated with SAP Cloud ALM

The "Test Automation" tool for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition offers pre-packaged automated tests based on the "SAP Best Practices for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition" SAP Activate Roadmap. These tests are pre-packaged in the test automation provider ("Test Automation" tool) itself, not in SAP Cloud ALM. SAP Cloud ALM supports the use of the "SAP Best Practices for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition" SAP Activate Roadmap, so those automated tests can be imported into SAP Cloud ALM. 

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition does not provide a Test Automation tool containing pre-packaged automated tests based on any SAP Activate Roadmaps. Tricentis Test Automation can be used to create and manage your automated tests for your products linked to SAP Cloud ALM, including SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition. Your SAP Cloud ALM tenant can then be used to trigger and report on the automated tests. However, Tricentis does not currently come with any pre-packaged tests for SAP products. Users will need to manually create the Automated Tests in Tricentis, so that SAP Cloud ALM can run and report on them.

When working with Tricentis Test Automation (TTA) integrated with SAP Cloud ALM, it’s important to distinguish between what’s available for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition.

Public Edition – Pre-Built Content Available

For the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, there are pre-delivered automated test scenarios. These are part of the "Test Automation Tool" specifically designed for the public cloud and are based on the SAP Best Practices from the SAP Activate Roadmap. These pre-built tests can be imported and orchestrated via SAP Cloud ALM — helping customers get started with test automation quickly and efficiently.

Private Edition – Custom Automation with Tricentis TTA

For the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, there is no out-of-the-box pre-packaged test content available at this time — either from SAP Cloud ALM or within Tricentis Test Automation. However, this doesn't limit your ability to automate:

• You can build your own tailored test scenarios in Tricentis TTA, including support for SAP GUI, Fiori, and custom applications.
• Once created, these test cases can be synchronized with SAP Cloud ALM.
• SAP Cloud ALM then allows you to orchestrate test runs and gain centralized test reporting and traceability.

While it's a more hands-on approach in the Private Edition, the benefit is a fully customizable and scalable test automation framework tailored to your specific landscape and processes.

Looking Ahead

Tricentis and SAP continuously evolve their toolsets. While pre-packaged tests aren't currently available for Private Edition, the integration already provides a robust platform for end-to-end test automation and governance—and future content packs or accelerators may become available as the ecosystem matures.
