Dear SAP,

we would install an BW system.
we are evaluating if to install a SAP BW/4HANA system or a BW on PERSON_NAME system but we have a doubt:

It's possible to install HANA DB Instance on RHEL Linux OS and Application server Instance on Oracle Solaris 11.3 SPARC OS?

thanks and best regards

Yes, it is possible to install the HANA DB instance on RHEL Linux OS and the application server instance on Oracle Solaris 11.3 SPARC OS. Here are the details:

  1. HANA DB Instance on RHEL Linux OS:
    • SAP HANA can be installed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 or 9. The installation process involves preparing the RHEL system, enabling the necessary repositories, and using the SAP Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) to install the HANA database.
  2. Application Server Instance on Oracle Solaris 11.3 SPARC OS:
    • Oracle Solaris 11.3 supports the installation of application server instances. The process includes setting up the Oracle Solaris environment, creating an install service for SPARC clients, and using the appropriate installation commands to deploy the application server.

By combining these two systems, you can leverage the strengths of both RHEL and Oracle Solaris for your SAP BW/4HANA or BW on PERSON_NAME system.
