SAP Business One for HANA Client Hangs Permanently on Loading Screen After Successful Credentials

1. System Environment

  • SAP B1 Version:

    SAP B1 10.0 VERSION for HANA & PL 02
  • Database: SAP HANA

SAP HANA Enterprise Edition 2.0 SPS04 Rev 45 for B1
  • Deployment:

    On-Premise

2. Problem Description

After the user successfully enters credentials and selects the company database in the SAP Business One client, the client window opens but gets permanently stuck on the loading screen. The main application menu never appears.

  • No specific error message or timeout occurs; the process hangs indefinitely.

  • This issue affects all users and all client machines.

3. Steps to Reproduce

  1. Launch the SAP Business One client.

  2. Enter credentials and select the Company Database.

  3. Click OK.

  4. The application window opens and hangs on the loading screen indefinitely.

4. Detailed Troubleshooting Performed

We have executed the following checks, ruling out core database and server issues:

  • HANA Database Status: Verified that all core SAP HANA services (Indexserver, Nameserver, Daemon, etc.) are running and active (Green status). The relevant screenshot from the HANA Cockpit/Studio is attached.

  • B1 Service Health: Confirmed the License Manager Service, SLD Service, and B1iF/Service Layer are all running and restarted.

  • Server Load: Confirmed there is no unusual CPU or Memory utilization on either the HANA or B1 Application Server during the hang.

  • Add-On Bypass: We attempted to log in using the CTRL + SHIFT method to bypass Add-On initialization; the issue persists.

  • User/Role Check: The hang occurs for all users, including the B1 Superuser.

5. Conclusion & Request

The hang is likely occurring at the application layer during the B1 License validation, Cockpit loading, or interaction with an internal B1 service.

We require immediate support to resolve this issue.

Thank you for your urgent attention on this matter.

Best regards,

Sunil Patil

Hi Sunil,

Business One patch is very old; first recommendation is upgrading to latest patch and check if issue persists.

Second, this requires investigation, you can create support ticket with component SBO-BC-PER.

Sagar

Hi Sagar,

Thanks for the prompt guidance and the revised component suggestion (SBO-BC-PER).

We appreciate the recommendation for the upgrade, and we agree it should be addressed. However, due to multiple complex integrations and the fact that the business is completely halted right now, an immediate patch/upgrade is not feasible at this stage. Crucially, no system-level, network, or application configuration changes were made prior to this issue occurring; it appeared suddenly. This points to a deeper application or service initialization failure, rather than a gradual performance degradation due to old patch levels.

Given that the customer's operations are completely down (P1), and the partner is requiring additional L1/L2 charges and time for initial investigation, we are facing significant delays. Can you advise on the fastest path forward? Is there anything need to check for troubleshoot the issue?

Thanks,

Sunil Patil
