SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition & SAP Mobile Start app: selection of language?

Dear experts,

we have a SAP Build Work Zone standard edition page, and when the page is opened on a desktop browser the user can switch between available page languages in their setting:

However when opening the same page in SAP Mobile Start app this setting for language and region seem not to be available. Am I missing something, is it not possible to switch between languages also on a mobile device?

Thank you, Br petra

@PetraMi

To change the language on SAP Mobile Start, please follow the below steps:

Android: Go to device settings > Apps > SAP Start > Language > Select one of the supported languages

iOS:  Go to device settings > Apps > SAP Start > Preferred Language > Select one of the supported languages

I hope this helps.

Hello @adityaarora, thank you for the reply. The aim is to switch between the available Build Work Zone page languages, not the SAP Start Mobile languages. This is something available when you open the page on the desktop browser, but not when you open the same page in SAP Mobile Start.

@PetraMi On the desktop browser, please select the "Browser Language" option under the Language and Region settings. Once this is configured, follow the steps I shared earlier on your mobile device. By selecting one of the supported languages (e.g., Croatian or English in your case), the content should be displayed in that language within SAP Mobile Start. Please note that there might be a slight delay before the updated language is reflected in the app.

Hello @adityaarora, thank you for the suggestion - it would probably work, however Croatian is not supported for SAP Mobile Start, at the moment at least.

A colleague suggested to have two tiles for the same app and force HR and EN respectively as the tile langugage. But I cannot find a way how to do it, since all tiles in the site inherit the site language, i.e. I find no language setup at the app tile, only on the site.

Any other ideas for a workaround?

Update:

we decided on a workaround as follows:

1. On the SAP BWZ site, Language Selection: NO. By doing this we ensure that the language of the browser will be enforced.

2. on the mobile device, switch device language as needed. So for instance in iOS, settings -> general -> Language and region -> delete one language and add another. It is not enough to just switch preferred language; if both languages are allowed on the device, the site will forever show in the one in which the app was launched first.

Our users are not really bilingual so this single device language works in our scenario.
