Hi,
I recently came across this SAP Note with regards to renaming the Org name of a subaccount.
2967079 - Changing the name of Cloud Foundry org using the cf CLI. - SAP ONE Support Launchpad
My question is, would there be a negative effect on the existing apps that are running in this subaccount if we chose to implement this note and rename the org? Like maybe apps won't work anymore etc.
Thanks,
John

Hi jbibal-pdc,
The note you attached here clearly states that this is not a supported scenario. If you use CLI to change the ORG's name you will have a different name on the Cockpit. So, not only this will get people confused (specially while dealing with support team and sales - because they will be discussing about different org names), but it might make some SAP application that rely on this information to fail altogether.
I would highly recommend you to not rename the ORG. If you really need to change its name, please delete all service instances in all spaces under that ORG, disable CF on that subaccount and then, while enabling CF again it will allow you to specify a new ORG name.
- OR -
Create a new Subaccount and distribute resource entitlements between the two.
Best regards,
Ivan

Hi ivan.mirisola,
Thanks for your response.
I guess I found the part where it says that it wasn't a supported scenario a tad bit vague / confusing hence the question.
But your points made a lot of sense. The sub account is used mainly for POCs, but what you mentioned that some apps that rely on that information might fail, should be enough for us to forego this option altogether.
Thanks again.
