SAP BDC Demo Environment

Hello All, 

Since the BDC trial version is now available, I’d like to create a demo using it. Could you please guide me on how to enable or build the content? Also, is it possible to showcase a demo using standard content, considering that the source systems are not properly maintained? I’m looking for any way to effectively pitch it to clients. I’m exploring options to work exclusively within BDC AI/ML part. The practice source systems are not properly maintained, making it impractical to establish connections with them. However, intelligent applications or insight apps require both source and target systems to be connected in order to enable the content. Are there any materials or documents available that can guide the implementation of Databricks AI/ML on raw data within an SAP BDC environment?

What BDC trial version are you referring to? Could you share the link, please?

Update May 27th:

As of today I registered the Trial BDC myself: Inside you will find a dedicated Learning Journey which explains how to install the Working Capital Insight App including the components in Datasphere and SAC... and it is also guided how to create your custom version for additions.

I think this is very helfpul learning content 🙂

Hi MKreitlein, 

As per the workbook, to perform any activity ( Installation apps) , we requrie an  admin role, obviously as trial version SAP will not give admin role fro us. it only dispaly.

If you managed to perform any activity,please let us know.

Hello @Edula.

You are right... you cannot install the Working Capital App by yourself. It is already pre-installed, and no other exist so far.

At least you can e.g. create a replication flow from the connected S4 HANA Public cloud system and replicate some invoice items.

This is, what I tested and it worked.

In general, there are many restrictions what you are not allowed to do... so it is probably more for the look and feel 😞
