Hello community,

is there a way to determine the size of SAP Archieve objects that isnt just determining an archieve session that would only select a single "entitiy/row" of data? We're doing some planning and it would be good to able to estmate the size needs of our SAPIQ.

Hello @ben09

Are you referring to ILM or NLS as stated in the Blog - SAP (Sybase) IQ – the hidden treasure …

In general, BLOBs coming from from the transactional SAP Systems are bigger chunks of date, while the historical data coming from the BW System are in records.

You can assume at least 50% compression Rate from HANA to IQ, and beside that, the existing compression rates from the main non HANA databases as follows:
Microsoft SQL Server compressed => 1:1
IDM DB/6 => 2:1
Oracle => 3:1

In any case, a Pilot Implementation of SAP IQ and some test data will give you all the wanted details.

Furthermore, PBS Software has even detailed Reports for evaluation the estimated sizes.

Best Regards @RolandKramer
