SAP Analytics Cloud - Story PDF export in the background not available

Hi Experts,

I currently have a story with live data models (SAP BW) which the users wants to export as PDF/PPT quite often. Therefor they want to use the function "Enable Export in the Background". But this option is greyed out with the info "This option is not available for this story".

But for other similar stories, which are also based on live data models, this option is available.

I couldn´t find any export PDF restriction, KBA or something similar for this topic. Does somebody know which restriction is causing this behavior?

Hi sarah_bo,

If this story larger than others? Like more page, or more widget per page? There is certain limitation on memory can be used for a browser page for background exporting, it's a limitation coming from browser.

Hi William,
is there any public information available concerning those memory limitations? I have a (classic) story where export in background works for some bookmarks but not for all of them => a few months ago this was not an issue at all.

Tested with Google Chrome: 120.0.6099.71

when using Edge (119.0.2151.97) export in background was only available for the story without choosing a bookmark.
