SAP Analytics Cloud Restricted measure not having option for Date Range

Hi,

I've just reloaded a planning model which has 3 Dates. 2 are Fiscal, one is not. And now on the two Fiscal Dates whenever I create a Restricted Measure or Account if I select either of the Fiscal Dates I only get the option of either Select by Member or Input Control. No Date Range selection is available. 

This is a critical problem. Anybody who has experienced this or knows how to fix it. Would be greatly appreciated.

Things to consider... 

 

The issue you're encountering with Fiscal Dates in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) after reloading your planning model is likely related to the date dimension properties and how SAC interprets Fiscal Dates versus standard dates.

Possible Causes and Solutions:

1. Date Dimension Type and Format Issue

In SAC, Fiscal Dates often behave differently from standard dates because they are linked to fiscal year variants.

If the system does not recognize them as a time-based dimension in the expected way, you may not get the Date Range selection option.


Solution:

Navigate to Modeler > Time Dimension Settings and check if the Fiscal Dates are correctly assigned to the time hierarchy.

Ensure the Fiscal Date dimensions are correctly mapped to a time hierarchy in the model.


2. Restricted Measure Behavior on Fiscal Dates

When creating a Restricted Measure or Account, Date Range selection is only available for recognized Date Dimensions.

If the Fiscal Dates are custom fields or incorrectly classified, SAC may not recognize them as date-based dimensions.


Solution:

Go to the model and check if the Fiscal Dates are correctly marked as Date Dimensions (under Model Properties > Time Dimensions).

Try reloading the model metadata after reloading the data to refresh the time structure.


3. Model Reload May Have Removed Time Hierarchy

When you reloaded the planning model, the assigned Fiscal Calendar or Time Hierarchy settings might have been altered.

In the model, check if the Fiscal Date fields still have the appropriate Fiscal Year Variant settings.

If the hierarchy is missing, reassign the time hierarchy in the model.
