SAP Analytics Cloud Excel Add-in Table Default Number Format

When I create a table for one of my data models in excel the default number format is showing four decimals.  I have checked the style in excel and the style for that type of cell says two decimals but whenever I create a table is shows the four decimals.  I know that I can apply that excel style or I can change the table's number format to two decimals but would love if I could save myself the time and have two decimals be the default instead of four.  Every document I have found published by SAP on the topic notes that the default format can be set in the model preferences but it never says where that is.  Can someone point me in the right direction to change that?

Couple of Options.

  • If you want to globally set the scale for the measure you could do it in measure configuration. N1kh1l_0-1738679430757.png

This is generally not advisable as you might have a mix of financial and statistical numbers with varied scaling requirements. but if it is  universal scaling you can set it here.

  • Other option is to apply the format in Excel table and disable the option of Applying the default format.N1kh1l_1-1738679606171.pngN1kh1l_2-1738679644418.png

If you have model with both measure and accounts you might have to check the structure priority in model preference to know from where the scale and format is being picked up.

Hope this helps !!
