SAP Analytics Cloud Currency Translation Rate types

Hi All!

we need to translate specific Balance Sheet reporting lines with historical rates. An indicative example is Share Capital balance, which is translated with a spot rate. Available Rate types in SAP Analytics Cloud are only Average (P&L) and Closing (for BS). Has anyone run into the same problem?

This was easily resolved in SAP BPC by using custom Rate types, maintained by the users.

Thank you!

0020792126Good old BPC 🙂

You can try a workaround. For those Accounts needing a spot exchange, create a separate version and copy the data, use the category as specific and Rate Version in Rates table. Use this rate to convert this separate version of data and once converted copy it back to main version. may be combine the steps in data Action.

Hope this helps !!

Hi nikhil_1486 !

BPC was somehow better on this 🙂

thank you for the help! I made the configuration and it works

the issue is that we cannot copy the translated amount to the Actual Version. You mean that there is a way to do this?

Thank you!

I thought you are persisting the converted results but looks like its a on the fly conversion. If you are persisting the results then yes you can copy the converted results but again its only possible in measure based model and not the classic account model.

Hi Nikhil

i created a conversion measure and an extra Measure to store the final figures in order to avoid the initial ones to be amended.

thank you for your help!

Great. Going measure based model was only probable solution for this.
