SAP Analytics Cloud Add-in for Office - Problems to change user

Dear Community,

I have implemented the SAC Add-in for Office and it is working fine with my user on an hcs.sap.com tenant. I have logged on and could download the data from the respective models.

Now I need to link the Add-in to another tenant with another user. In addition I wanted to test the add-in using different users in order to test the data access restrictions our different users have (e.g. company code, sales organization, ...).

After starting a new Excel worksheet I can specify my new tenant (new URL) but no screen is coming up where I can enter my new user. Interestingly enough the add-in is using my old user from the old tenant which is not existing in the new tenant. As a consequence the Add-in says "your profile is not existing" which is correct.

But I did not find anything where I can change my user. I de-installed the add-in and re-installed it. It seems that after you have successfully logged on to a SAC tenant you cannot change your user anymore.

Help would be appreciated!

Thanks, Wolfgang

Hello wolfgang.runge,

Try below steps and let us know, how it goes.

  • Try to connect to old SAC tenant with same workbook (saved one). Run a simple query and then log out.
  • Go to Microsoft edge and log out from that window as well. This is to ensure session gets cleared.
  • Do not use the same workbook to connect to new tenant. As meta data of old tenant gets saved along with workbook. Create a new (fresh) workbook and try connecting to new tenant.
  • If you still have issues try trouble shooting link as below

Below help document summarizes the steps-

Log Out - SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office

Hi Debjit,

yes, this worked. Maybe I should add that I'm using the SAC Add-in with Excel Desktop.

I was using SAC with 2 browsers - Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome - for the 2 tenants. I was in the first round focusing on loging off from my Chrome sessions using the 2 tenants. I did now the same through Edge - loging on and loging off the two tenants. And then it worked.

It seems that Edge and Office applications are sharing some data and not clearing them. Is this possible?

Thanks a lot!

Wolfgang

Glad that it helped.
Edge and all MS cloud apps (including office 365) share data to work.

Hi,

I have similar troubles.

I need to logout from SAC plugin and log in with another user, but there is no way to do it because of this other problem:

"As of this version, you can’t use the add-in for new workbooks without a BI license. As your user does not have a BI license in this tenant, the add-in is disabled for new workbooks. Please check with your admin or use an SAP Analytics Cloud tenant where you have a BI license."

There are no buttons under the yellow box.

If I log out with the button below, it re log in with the same user:

Please help 😞

Thank you.
