SAC Model: Is there a optimized way to reconnect the story to a new model without major changes

Hi All,

In our organization, we have a centralized planning model which is used across multiple stories and some data actions.

The issue we are having is, We need to update that model with new fiscal year data but we cannot run the import on the same model as the perspective of 2023 data in previous fiscal yr v/s when we upload 2024 fiscal year data(along with prior yrs) will create some discrepancies.

The problem with this approach is that, All the stories have to be rebuild(reconnecting each widget and creating cross calculations again) in order to connect to the new model as organization wants to keep snapshot of FY23 model and the stories build on it.

Please can someone suggest a better approach if you have similar problem on how to tackle this without having to create all the stories again and again when the fiscal year changes.

Really appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Are your stories still classic stories? If yes, you can replace model at story level.

No some stories are optimized.

Also, in case of classic story where do we have an option to replace the model at story level so that all the underlying widgets gets adjusted on its own ? What happens to calculated measures and cross calculations?

Please can you give a screenshot.

For classic stories you can change the model as below under the data tab.

Hi Nikhil,

Thanks for providing the screenshot.

But it is not allowing if you have hierarchies.

Also, what happens to the cross calculations and calculated measures ?

Sana
