Hi Community,
I have a question about Currency Conversion in SAC:
So, how do you use Currency Conversion on an Analytic Model with a BI License if you can’t create a Currency Conversion table?
Interestingly I noticed that recently downloaded SAP Content for SAC, for example SAC Concur content, includes a Currency Conversion table that can be updated with Missing Rates and used by an Analytic Model. So, I can’t create a Currency Conversion table from scratch with a BI License, but I can download one as part of standard SAP Content and then use it and update it. This seems a bit strange.
Does anyone else have any experiences or thoughts around Currency Conversion in this situation?
Thanks

Hi Mark and Henry,
According to the licensing documentation , a user in your system would need a Planning Professional license to create and update currency conversion tables (search for "currency conversion" in the documentation link). A BI user would be able to view tables and charts based on the currency field tables and their converted values in reports.
Restating this, a user with the Planning Professional license would need to set up the data model and currency conversion table, and a BI user could view a story based on that data model.

Hi Mark
my understanding is that a Planner license would set it up, and a BI user would consume it.
nice observation about the Concur package - i wonder if that content is shipped with something like a lesser "Update" right on the file, rather than a "Maintain" keeps it in play as a BI license or, once the artifact (conversion table + model) has been published?
Not quite sure how that's been implemented. Need to check it out! Thanks for your help 😉
Kind regards,
