Hello community
I'm new here and need some help. Is there a way to make a calculated measure where its multiply the leafs members in a hierarchy? I didn't find any product function to use. Should i make a data action for it?
Request clarification before answering.
Measure Hierarchy is not supported in SAC Measures. If you just want to multiply 3 measures, you could just create a calculated measures and multiply the 3 base measures in the formula
M=M1*M2*M3, Here M is the calculated measure and M1-M3 are base measures. You can do this calculation both at story level and model level. If this calculation is something which is applicable to all stories its prudent to do this at model level. But If its just a story specific requirement, you could achieve this in story itself.
Also please note in this type of calculation aggregation happens first and then the calculation. So if you are doing Price * Volume calculation over a product hierarchy, the calculation at parent level will be not the sum of calculation results from child rather it would be a calculation done at parent level values. If you need the calculation to happen at leaf level and aggregate you need to use Exception Aggregation on this calculated measure. Refer to the example in the below help doc for more detail.

You can use the lookup function in the model calculated measures to make use of the leaf nodes in hierarchy.
You can also have the account dimension where Formula column is readily available for it.
