SAC - Blending Support in Optimized Design Mode

Can someone from SAP please comment on the topic of blending supported in optimized design mode?

There is nothing detailed in the official roadmap.

Hello everyone,

As you know our objective is to deliver the equivalent blending feature set in Optimized Design Experience (ODE) as we have in Classic mode, and for that we have splitted this important development in different phases.

So far we have already delivered these features in 2023:

• Blended Visualization – Chart in Optimized View Mode (OVM) (excludes SAP BW) 
• Blended Calculations & Thresholds (in OVM) 
• Blended Visualization – Chart in ODE (excludes SAP BW) (includes Time as Linked Dimension) 
• Blended Calculations & Thresholds (in ODE) 

Next phase is now Blending with SAP BW live models in charts, which is planned for the 2024 Q3 QRC.

I still do not have linked analysis in Optimized mode. When is this expected to be released or in which version can I get it I am on 2025.1.9

Don't count on it any time soon.
I think the 'Blended calculations' refers to some linked dimensions / linked analysis only.

It's still very uncertain when real Blending would be coming to Optimized Design Mode, certainly when it's not even on short term roadmap..

The newest product plan 2023 Q3 simply says 'Future Direction':

Hi Jeff,

I am trying to convert an existing story into Optimized design mode but it displays that 'blended calculations' are blocking the conversion. This persists even after removing the visualization in the dashboard that uses linked dimensions. I even checked by removing all linked analysis and it still does not convert to ODE mode.

Any suggestions?

Try checking and deleting more options...
Like even removing entire config under Data > linked dimensions, or dynamic text, or thresholds / conditional formatting on linked dimensions, etc...

Jef, but how then SAP plans to get rid of the classical stories? If those are nontransferable?

Blending is not supported till now in Optimized Design Mode,

Only filtering across models is possible in this mode.

Yes, so far: "Blending is currently not supported between linked models for Optimized Design mode. Currently only filtering across models is supported."

here in Q3 23 there is a mention of Blending calculation
