SAC App Designer - Live BW connection cannot create calculated dimension

Just a sanity check really as I've not yet found documentation that provides a definitive answer
(I may not have looked in the right place, so feel free to share any links etc)

When using a Live BW connection in SAP App Designer am I correct in thinking you cannot create
calculated dimensions?
Can't see any way of doing in the tool.

James - you can take a look at this SAP Analytics Cloud Support Matrix https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOC/SAP+Analytics+Cloud+Support+Matrix and see that Calculated Dimensions aren't supported with BW Live Connections

I have to say, I'm finding SAC running against BW very poor in terms of integration and functionality.
Webi and (heresy I know - PowerBI) are just so much better when it comes to building front end content against Live BW sources

JBARLOW.. Am glad I am not the only one struggling.. Things that WEBI can do easily seems impossible in SAC with BW Live connections.. I have a simple requirement to remove the fiscal year variant key that is compounded with Fiscal year in the a table column in SAC. But I am unable to write a simple varible to define a calculated dimension to do this.. Most frustrating
