SAC Allocation

Hi All,

I am trying to create an allocation using the standard SAC functionality but I’m struggling to achieve the desired result.

Scenario

I am using a key figure based model with the following set up

  • Key figures: Trans Currency, Allocation Driver.
  • Generic Dimensions: Contract, Cost Center, Company Code, Profit Center, AuditTrail
  1. I want to allocate the following budget data:

  2. Using the following Driver Combinations:

  3. Producing the following Output – The driver key figure is being used to generate the target splits. Notice the sender Cost Center, AuditTrail, Company Code, Profit Center has changed in the output based on the driver key figure % within the same contract.

I don’t want to specify every single Contract as a rule because there are hundreds and they change so it needs to be dynamic. If I select All Contracts as the source it sums all the contracts together and allocates the total rather than allocating within each contract based on the target driver split.

I have tried so many combinations of Source & Overwrite > Target but nothing produces the Output I have shown in 3. above. I’m starting to think the standard functionality is not fit for purpose so an advanced action formula might be required…?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Seamus

Hi Peter,

We did try a few different options with the reference but nothing seemed to work. Can you provide details in the set up? What would I use for the source?

I have actually developed an advanced formula that does exactly what I need using a FOREACH command.

I suspect the SAC allocation works similarly to the BPC allocation which cannot process a many to many alloc. It requires you to loop each allocation but that takes a long time so I used similar script in BPC to achieve the same result.

It would be good if could ask some of your colleagues at SAP whether I am misinterpreting the standard SAC functionality or not?

Thanks very much,

Seamus

Seamus,

In the Allocation Step, have you attempted to use the "Reference Dimension" in Options set as Contract? This option may drive the allocation for each Contract.

Hope this helps.
