S4 Public Cloud Development : "Logon to the ABAP service instance has failed" Error in Eclipse

Hi All,

I am facing an issue while connecting to the cloud system (S4C not BTP) from eclipse. Post giving the URL, Eclipse asks to login via browser and when that is done, browser will authenticate successfully, but Eclipse shows error "Logon to the ABAP service instance has failed". I tried with copy URl option as well. Even that doesnt work. Any pointers would be helpful.

Thanks

Sreekanth

Hi SreekanthKrishn

I recommend checking Eclipse or ADT for updates here: SAP Development Tools for Eclipse - Latest Software Repository (ondemand.com).

Reinstalling Eclipse may also help. I believe this guide (Install Eclipse for ABAP Development – Discovering ABAP) could help you with that.

Thank you. It was a firewall issue. Eclipse was not able to reach the hanaondemand URL. Fixed it by whitelisting the url
