S4/HANA (on CAL) trial edition Certificate Not Working

Hi All,

We have installed a trial version of S4/HANA (on CAL) FS in our landscape. We are trying to use the certificate given by SAP to connect the trial version with other system, but unfortunately, the certificate is expired (attached is the error message).

Can you someone please help to get the latest version of certificate?

Certificate can be obtained from the below URL which is given in trial version (Fiori URL).

Dear Customer,

You could create a fresh appliance from the used by you template or to follow this blog post: https://blogs.sap.com/2021/06/04/resolve-annoying-self-signed-ssl-certificate-issue-on-abap-1909-dev... in order to resolve the problem.

Hi Tsvetinka,

Thanks for the response. We have used self-signed certificate (followed the steps in the blog given by you above) to tackle the issue but that is creating problems in other areas.

We can create a fresh appliance but wanted to know the chances of getting the appliance again with expired certificates. We are asking this because it already happened twice.

Can we assume that the new appliance will have valid certificate for sure?

Dear customer,

You could crate a new appliance with a new certificate validity if you do not have any critical data in your existing appliance.

Can you please clarify the below?

If we create a new appliance we "assume" it will come with a new certificate.

Do we have to do anything with respect to certificate while creating the appliance?
