Regarding exporting a Par file from NWDS.

I have a problem regarding the exporting a par file from NWDS. when i created any projectt my project is succesfully deployed but . it is not visible when i create any iview from par.

pls check this steps , perhaps i am missing any steps , or i m deploying it in wrong manner.

suppose i have to change the masthead brand image.

steps r .

1. download a par file.

2. do the changes in headerview.jsp file.

3. add the image in img folder.

4. add the jar file in lib folder.

5. save and quick par upload.

MY server settings r correct . but i dont know why my project is not in the list.

Hi,

Instead of Quick Par upload try the normal export option from file menu to export par file.

There were some issues with Quick Par upload option while exporting par file, that it really did not export the par file.

Even after export par, you cant find your project while creating IView, then check on the server from Administration Console, if you can find your par file there.

If you dont find it, then deploy your par file from there by using the upload button there.

You will also error messages there if par upload is not successful.

If still have the same problem, check the defaultTrace file for error messages.

thanks for ur quick reply. but i still have the prob. for upload a file from admin console u must have the par file of ur project tht u created. but i didnt found any par file in my project.

Hi,

You will have the par file directly under your project folder where also your .classpath and .project files exist. Also check them from windows explorer.

Without a par file, you cannot deploy your project on the server.

To create par file check this:

Once you export the par file, you should see this par directly under your project folder.

If this is not there, then it is a problem in your NWDS.

Try to use the Quick Par Upload option and select the check boxes in the popup window that comes when you click quick par upload.even if you get some exception par file will be created and you can upload to portal from system administration-support-portal runtime-administration console-go to the folder where you created your project and select the par file
