Reference quotation number won’t get passed through paramater ids

Hey guys,

I have a requirement to call the va01 from a custom program. basically i need to use reference quotation and create sales orders using that reference number. 

when i tried parameter ids it only passes data to the fields in the initial screen (order type, sales org etc). But doesnt work for the reference quotation. I tried with bdc and it works fine. 
But i dont want to use bdc as bdc has its own issues. 

is there any customer exit or badi for this requirement?

basically when calling the transaction if theres a reference quotation number i need fields of the reference quotation in my va01 screen as the standard behavior 

any help would be appreciated
