Hello Guys,

I am facing an issue for which cannot find an answer. I hope you will help me understand what I have done wrong that CC behavior is as it is.

What I am trying to do ?

Trying to test if chargé plan  designed for usage consumption works as expected.

What I did ?

  1. Created CCM for Subscription products with:
  • separate Charge Plan dedicated for Recurring Chargé triggered from CC using Variant Conditions
  • separate Charge Plan dedicated for Usage Chargé triggered when usage event arrives
  1. Created Subscription Contract which was created in CC correctly.
  2. Created CIT via FKKBIXCIT_UPLOAD – Upload and perform Rating for it.

Issue:

During Rating system throws error that rating failed. In the message system displays parameters which belongs to Recurring Charge instead of Usage Charge which suggests that CC ignore Charge dedicated for Usage, instead CC use Recurring Charge for some reason .

When I removed Recurring Charge Plan from the Subscription Contract in CC, for which I created CIT and performed rating again system rated CIT successfully!!

Does anybody knows what I have done wrong that system takes Recurring Charge instead Usage Charge when rating CIT ?

Thanks For help!

Hello Dominic,

While its hard to give a clear response without checking the actual logic configured on your own SAP CC system, my initial idea is to check if the technical resources are clearly defined on both the Charge Plan responsible for Usage Consumption and also on the CIT when you create them via CIT_UPLOAD, together with the Consumption Item Class.

Furthermore, the trigger periodicity of the Recurring Rate on the other Charge Plan has to be checked, because it is unusual for a Recurring Charge to be triggered from an incoming CIT. Have you specified different Technical Identifiers/Service IDs on the Cross-Catalog-Mapping configuration interface?

Additionally, even thought the Access Denied message comes from the Recurring Rate as stated, it does not mean that the Usage Rate was not taken into account. If both Rates are executed and one leads to a No Access function, the whole Rating will fail, and unfortunately you cannot see that on the Error Message.

As a best practice, it is also advised to avoid the No Access functions on Recurring Rates, unless it is for testing purpose.

Lastly, if nothing works and you are unable to provide screenshots of the solution, you can also try to include both Recurring Charge and Usage Charge on a single Charge Plan, again by keepin in mind the above suggestions, of course, in case that this solution works for your business scenario.

Best,
Xhoi A.

Hi Xhoi,

Thanks for replaying. Removing - Access Denied from Recurring helped in my case. Now rating runs as expected.

Thanks a lot!
