"Large buttons" is greyed out: CRW 2020 SP1 patch 7

Good day all,

We have recently rolled out Crystal Reports 2020 SP1 patch 7.

The option for large buttons in the toolbars is greyed out.

Is this by design? Or, is there some way to make it work?

Many thanks.

It is by design, CR2020 should adjust to screen resolution by itself.

Even though it is by design it is not a desired feature. It is a major inconvenience to have to change the resolution for my entire display in order to see the tiny icons at the top of the screen in Crystal Reports.

Please re-enable this feature.

What is exact version SP and patch level of your Crystal Reports 2020?

What is your screen resolution?

Can you attach a screenshot?

Then I will forward it to Development

I'm running SAP Crystal Reports 2020 Support Pack 2 Patch 3.

The "Large Buttons" option in the Toolbars menu is greyed out. Unfortunately I am unable to attach a screenshot. My screen resolution is set to 1680x1050 which is the "recommended" resolution for my particular monitor. The scale is set to 100%.

The buttons size should be adjusted automatically. I was not working for the version below SP1 Patch 2, but after a fix we did not observe any issue. See below the size f buttons on my screen with 1920x1080 resolution. open the picture for your whole screen and compare with what you see in your CR. Is it small?

ues.

This is what TRUE LARGE BUTTONS should look like. As you can see, the "Large Button" box is greyed out, but checked. My registry shows Large Buttons: Yes. Again, this is great for me because I had Version 16 before upgrading to 20, so it kept the settings. If/when my computer is replaced, I will probably install 16 first and upgrade to maintain this, but that seems ridiculous, especially since the option is still in the Toolbars screen, just not accessible. For the record, I'm running Crystal Reports 2020 Support Pack 1, Version 14.3..3701 and my screen resolution for both monit 1920 x 1200, but should not matter at all. If I have to set my resolution to 800x600, I'll never be able to get any work done. The program's "Large Buttons" option should just work.

Please test to see if the fix demonstrated in this video demo works for Cr 2020:

I've tried the fix in the video. Changing the compatibility settings as the video recommended did not change resolution or icon size in Cr 2020.

Thank you.

The buttons just seem a bit small to our users with poor contrast compared to the background.

It was much better when the check box worked.

Any chance your developers could make it work again please?!

So it looks like the option to get bigger buttons is to adjust screen resolution to 800x600?

In the era of retina displays I think that is a bit feeble.
