Hi,gurus:

I have these questions on Bex Web Setup:

(1).If I have finished template installer in Portal,do i also need to run the program RSPOR_SETUP in SAP BI?

(2).In the program RSPOR_SETUP,what parameters should I fill in "Create RFC Destination in J2EE Engine"?my portal URL is http://shaw2k02.dimension.com.cn/irj/portal,and the SID of BI is EC6,the SID of Portal is P70

in the format <PORTAL_HOSTNAME>_PORTAL_<BI_SID>?

Hi

<b>917950 -SAP NetWeaver 2004s: Setting Up BEx Web

</b>

You might wanna check aforementioned OSS note.

Before you use the report RSPOR_SETUP, you should apply the following notes:

916571 RSPOR_SETUP: Adjustments for Template Installer

928332 RSPOR_SETUP: (Part 2) Adjustments for Template Installer

Hope it Helps

Hey Martin,

In general, you should use program RSPOR_SETUP to just check the setup. If there is any particular step that is having problems, then as Chetan mentioned, 917950 is the central note to resolve issues. When running RSPOR_SETUP, just enter the information under the "check configuration" area. You don't need to fill in everything. When this comes back, it will tell you whether any of the particular steps have a problem and then you can troubleshoot those sections according to 91950.

I know that I can use SMICM to get the http port,is the BACKEND SERVER PORT same as HTTP PORT?How can I get it?

Backend HTTP Port:

This is the HTTP port returned by function module RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET

Backend Server Port:

This is the port for the message server.

These are different ports. On my system, I have 8100 as my http port and 3600 as my message server port.

In continuation ..

The message server specific settings for host and port are saved in the parameters rdisp/mshost and ms/http_port or ms/https_port(in case HTTPS used). The port of the message server here must not be the same as the port of the application server where it is running.

Example- The HTTP port of the message server (for example, 1090) must not be identical to the HTTP port of the application server (for example 1080) on which the message server is running.

T-code = RSPFPAR for profile parameters.

<b>Example:</b> In addition to above configuration, a message server is used.

rdisp/mshost = mshost

ms/http_port = 8000

Generated URL: http://mshost.domain.com:8000/sap/bw/BEx.

PS- You do not need to make any settings in BW Web Intelligence.Business Explorer tools such as the Web Application Designer, BEx Query Designer or SAP Easy Access automatically generate URLs with the message server and port, if it has been defined by the aforementioned profile parameters.

Hope it Helps

Hi all:

Thanks for your answers.

What a disapointed result that I found 8106 as the backend server port using RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET,but I still got the same result as is was.

It can be any BI user. I created a new user in the ABAP side called BEX_WEB which I gave SAP_ALL to and used that as my Jco user.

Hi,Darij:

I entered an ABAP user in the field, but still I got error for the very first step, the other 10 steps from 2 to 11 is ok.step 12 import Portal certificate failed and step 13 setup repository manager failed.

The whole progress is 77% complete.

Looking forward your reply.

If it is a single SID install (ABAP and JAVA on the same SID), then this is expected. Just hit continue to finish out the steps.

For Single SID Install only - Step 12 will fail or will complete but have incorrect certificates

If failure occurs, make sure hit install to finish the rest of the steps in the template installer

Manual Steps for Correction (do not re-run template installer after manual correction!!!):

1. Property Client under register SAP System in Portal iView UME Configuration

2. Property SAP Client of System Object in Portal iView System Landscape

3. Delete J2EE certificate (SAPLogonTicketKeypair and SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert) in Visual Administrator under Services Keystorage

4. Create new J2EE certificate (SAPLogonTicketKeypair with other Common Name) in Visual Administrator under Services Keystorage (as described in documentation of step 9 “Export Portal certificate in Portal”, report RSPOR_SETUP)

5. Delete J2EE certificate in certificate list and access control list (ACL) with transaction STRUSTSSO2

6. Import new J2EE certificate to certificate list in transaction STRUSTSSO2

7. Add new J2EE certificate to access control list (ACL) in transaction STRUSTSSO2

Hi Prakash,

The BEX_WEB user is Dialog type ?

So how i can get values for :

<b>BACKEND_SYSTEM :

BACKEND_SYSNUMBER :

BACKEND_CLIENT :

BACKEND_SID :</b>

<b>My System is using :</b>

MDT = 001 is for EP

MDT = 100 is BI DEV

So, Gurus, this is correct ?

We only can make connection to R/3 MDT 100 and not in MDT 200 or 300, Any idea ?
