A user is asking for a report that includes sensitive data such as the patient's names and ages. When the report is finished, it will be scheduled to be delivered to the user on weekly basis. What kind of reasonable safeguards can I apply to the sensitive data, if there is any available safeguard at all, to the report when I schedule it later? I tried to find any, and so far no luck.

Export the report to PDF and password protect the PDF file.
Or zip and password-protect the exported file.
There are 3rd-party Crystal Reports tools that can automate that process. See list here.
