Programmatically Change/Update the Local SAP GUI Options

To all the Guru's,

When trying to set-up new users in SAP, there are things that can be done with Scripting and things that I have yet to figure out how to do.  I'm not ABAP programmer, I can barely create a script to update / data using Excel.  But using Power Points and scripting does nothing to ease the user into setting up their profile within SAP,  As a matter of course, I see that most users fail miserably in getting the User Profile set-up properly and so they struggle with using SAP.

\Having said all that, my question to all is this;

Is there a a way to programmatically change the SAP GUI Options?

I would like to send a user an email with a link or a file that would make all of the changes in their profile for them and to also change things in the SAP GUI Options (Customize Local Layout).
