Printing PDF labels: Printing cuts halfway through after Zebra printer is interrupted

We have previously changed device types for printers to be able to print both PDF labels and native ZPL output on zebra printers. One issue we encounter was that whenever the printer is interrupted when printing (i.e. the cover is opened for roll change/film change), the printer doesn't continue printing the current label and instead skips it and goes to the next label once the printer is now good to use again. This doesn't happen before with ZPL output. Any thoughts on this case?

Hi Jack,

1. You can create two different output devices in the SAP system pointing to one Zebra printer. Check whether the Zebra printouts are not skipping one page or not.

2. You can check with the printer vendor if any minor settings are available on the printer.

3. How is the Zebra printer configured from SAP to the printer? Is any SAP printer method used?

Regards

SS

1. we have tested it for both solely zpl and pdf based device types and the issue don't occur with ZPL based device types only on the PDF one.

3. Additionally, this is a network printer in which we use an external output management system. Moreover, when we tested it in our quality systems, the issue is not there, only in production. All configurations for production and quality are the same so we are unsure what is causing the issue with production systems.
