PowerDesigner cannot connect to repository after client update

Hello,

We updated the PowerDesiger client in our Citrix environment from version 16.7 SP07 PL02 to 16.7 SP08 PL01.

With the new client version we get the following error when trying to connect.
"The Repository cannot be upgraded using a proxy connection. Use a direct connection." 
and
"The connection failed because the repository has not been installed on this database"

What are we missing? why cant we connect?
I alreay tried the following notes.

DIGITS - Cannot connect to the PowerDesigner Repository using a proxy connection after upgrading - SAP PD
DIGITS - Proxy connection: Prompted to upgrade the repository - SAP PD 

DIGITS - Cannot connect to ASE repository (connection failed) – SAP PD 
This is not valif for us.

Hello,

To upgrade the PD client to a newer SP, it is necessary to upgrade the repository definitions as well.
To accomplish this, connect to the repository using a Direct repository definition and execute the SQL script when prompted.
After that, and users will be able to connect via the Proxy.
