Possibility of Having BAdI/Enhancement Implmentation in SCP ABAP Environment

Hello,

I'm familiar with in-app and side-by-side extension development approach and I know that Custom Logic ( part of Custom Fields and Logic app) can help us to implement certain enhancements with some custom logic. I'm trying to understand whether there's any plan to provision Enhancement Implementation in SCP ABAP Environment. So, the BAdI/Enhancement definition will still be residing in your S/4HANA or S/4HANA Cloud but the corresponding implementation will be developed in SCP ABAP. At runtime, framework should call the SCP ABAP implementation based on certain configuration. The reason I'm looking for this kind of solution is because there are only limited number of Enhancements available as a part of in-app business context and also Enterprise Messaging can only be configured based on specific business events . Do you have any such future plans ?

Hi Gairik,

there is already now the option to use outbound services to create, update, or retrieve data for example with BAdIs (Business Add-In) or custom business objects as described here:

Executing Outbound Services

So it is possible to develop certain business logic in SCP ABAP Environment, publish it as an OData service and consume it as described above.
