Is it advisable or feasible to implement polling mechanism in WAS. My purpose is to ping an external server at regular interval, and also to do query on the database table based on certain criteria at regular interval.
Or is there any better design doing that?
Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Thanks.
I know of Task Scheduling Service on Portal which can be used for this. Do you have Portal installed ?
Infact you can even write scripts do this and schedule it at OS level (Windows has Scheduler which can be utilized. Unix has cron job etc)
