Hi Experts,

I have requirement to pass multiple values to Query Browser From Excel Spreadsheet.

Please make sure that I'm not using Bex.i'm Using Universe as a source.

I have tried with OR Operator, values with semicolon(2 ways) but it doesn't accepting multiple values the result data is coming for only on value not for both.

Please help me out if you have any idea.

Thanks,

Prasad

Hi Prasad,

Can you please make sure of the following:

  • When you define your query make sure that your dimension is "In List" not "Equal" (as displayed in your screen shot.

  • To make sure, it will displayed like this in the "Query Brwser" panel:

  • Then make sure to map it to range of Excel cells not only one cell. like this

Hope that can help

Hi Taha

Thank you for you Prompt response.

II believe I'm not suppose to use "In list" Operator in my requirement, because in my case the prompt should take single or multiple values dynamically.

Let me tell My scenario:

I have 3 values in dropdown(Region) those are(A,B,C),if i select A then A should pass if i select B then A or B both should pass if i select C then C should pass.

Only B selection is different apart from other values.

Please suggest me if you have any ideas.

I have tried with or operator but no use please see the below example which i have tried:

OR Region equal to Prompt

      Region equal to Prompt

Thanks,

Prasad

Can you try this:

  • In your selector set the insertion type to be "Row"
  • in the data source handel the "B" case by passing "A" and "B"
  • set your prompt to be "In list"
  • Map your prompt to your selector destination cells.

I hope that this works... 🙂

Thank you

I should not change Insertion Type to Row:(my insertion Type is Posiiton)

because i have 80% Calculations in my excel based on my insertion type Position.

there many calculations are depending on the position insertion type means I'm calculating the Data

based on positions:

example:if position1 then i have to take first column data from many excel sheets similarly if i select 2 then 2 column i have to take.

Thanks,

Prasad

Hi Prasad,

you can also have multiple insertion. so you can leave the old position one and create another insertion for the row values. The trick here that you can have multiple information inserted using one selector. find below the steps:

You "Selected values" in prompt.

Note: In prompt it should take "in list" in my case its displaying as "Equal to".

I hope insert List of Values is used "insert values from universe  excel sheet" not to pass prompts.

Thanks,
