P&L best Practice - SAC

Hey,
What is the SAC planning best practice, when creating a planning flow leading to a P&L.
Is it to have two separated dimensions CC and Account - or to concatenate the two?

I usually use two dimensions but then I find it complicated to create my P&L report.

thanks

Hello @Deb_D

I would say, from SAC perspective alone it does not matter if you use 2 or 1 concatenated dimension.

If you plan do download some data into ACDOCP into an S4 system, then you should definitely go with 2 separate dimensions.

Hey @MKreitlein, thank you - another qst, where do you build your P&L hierarchy, is it above the account dimension or above the CC dimension?

I'm not sure if I understand your questions right... but have you checked already how SAP built it in the SAC content?

E.g. https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_ON-PREMISE/48f4b4785b8e45938ac44a67be8032d9/ad55b496850741c7bb3...

You can load both hierarchies via OData Services:

https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_ON-PREMISE/48f4b4785b8e45938ac44a67be8032d9/647247dc5cf0407b931...

You can drill-down the P&L Hierarchy in the Planning layout and put the Cost Centers into a Story or Page Filter (Dropdown).
