Options for loading master data from ERP system to public dimension in SAC

I have a connection to SAP ERP (ECC nonHana) and need to load master data into public dimensions. However I am not able to select this connection as a datasource in public dimensions. What are the options for importing data from ERP to public dimensions? Are there some kind of best practices for this case? I've read about using OData-Services? Is this the only option?

SAC support loading multiple datasources into public dimension including SQL database. You can consider to setup JDBC connection through Cloud Agent and import into SAC.

Thanks for your suggestion. Would I need to configure anything in my ERP system to be able to import data into SAC via this connection? Or would I only have to configure Cloud Agent?

What would you recommend when having the choice between OData and SQL? Are there specific pros and cons with respect to these two types of datasources/connections?

Cloud connector and Cloud agent is definitely needed. I'm not able to provide you pros and cons here...
